Tulips From Amsterdam

The breathtaking spring fields of Holland are truly worth the long, cold wait every year. We love to take a drive, stop and picnic, and of course, take hundreds of photos. Holland is a busy country in April/May, with bus loads of tourists visiting the flower capital, enjoying the beginnings of warmer weather and a colourful countryside.

We celebrated the day by enjoying some fun family time in the fields of Haarlem. Tulip season is pretty much over now. We watched a tractor chop the flowers down row by row. Did you know that most of the tulip fields are cultivated for bulbs? The flowers bloom and bring tourism to Holland. Then they're topped, allowing the bulbs to mature and multiply and then finally, it's harvest and export. Madison offered her services as flower topper and got to take this beautiful bunch home. Loved our chillaxed Thursday. School holidays are the best!
