Koninginnedag

We thoroughly enjoyed our Queen's Day holiday in Delft with the De Nucci's and Anger's this year. We didn't opt to sell old, unwanted pieces of rubbish for hours on end, as is tradition here. Rather, we spent a portion of our day out in the chilly, yet refreshing spring weather, selling our delicious home baked cookies. The girls are beginning to realize the work and effort that goes into earning money. They were very pleased to take home Eur 12 each. Koekjes, vijftig cent, they yelled. Very cute. And I love that Amy opened up her guest toilet to the public for 50c a go. Perfect location, as the market was right on her street. Quite entrepreneurial.

Public holiday celebrations continued until late that evening. Games, chatting, laughing and planning a long weekend getaway as a group of friends filled up our day. Thanks go to Amy and Tom for putting up with all of us for so long, especially since they were packing to leave for a 2 week vacation to Germany and Austria.
