The Christmas week was filled with family time, good food and lots of wrapping paper! Christmas day started with our traditional Courtney family gift opening escapade at 7am, followed by a Christmas church service, then a zip down the hill to enjoy lunch with the Harries/Roger/Webley families, then back up the hill for an evening Christmas dinner with the Courtney family!
We took a quick day trip down the coast to a litchi farm to pick our own litchis. It was a stinker of a day. We were dropped off at the farm on the back of a tractor and were told we'd be collected within the hour. With a bottle of litchi water in one hand and an empty bucket in the other we braved the incredible heat with sandaled feet, hoping we'd miss any snakes or spiders :/. Reaching up for the plumpest, reddest, juciest litchis was hard work. Eventually the litchi farmer came to collect his tired and weary pickers. Next time I suggest a return visit to a litchi picking farm, please just smack me. It was a lot of fun, but, next time, I think I'll just buy a bag on the side of the road.
More to come!
