*played fun games (like church, mother/father/baby)
*pulled each other's hair
*went to church together
*dyed and cut each other's hair
*fought (mum threatened occupancy at the local orphanage many times)
*patched things up and learned to say sorry
*forgave
*stole each other's clothes
*collected and sold avocados at the gate
*went into each other's rooms without permission
*laughed a lot
*made long nails out of sea shells and stuck them on with prestik
*"borrowed" mum's clothes to sell to nannies walking past our gate (Heila!)
*played prank phone calls
*cried
*matured
*shared a ride home from school in"Sally"
*sang together (The "Von Courtney" Family Singers)
*had fun holidays together
*changed our names to Shelly and Michelle on holidays
*cooked and baked
*made up silly songs and shows on cassette tape
*drove in a gazillion boogie cars (you'll have to be a Courtney to understand this and the next one!)
*made boogie car faces
*jumped for hours on the trampoline
*learned to accept each sister as an individual
*witnessed miracles as a family
And now that we're all grown up, it's a blessing I consider as one of the greatest in my life. These are the reasons (in no particular order):
*a family consisting of 6 girls is always a fun topic of conversation
*you're never alone
*always someone to phone
*a guaranteed shopping buddy
*an eternal friend
*is solace anywhere more comforting than that in the arms of a sister?
*someone to stand with you through the ups and downs
*someone you can simply be yourself around
*a confidant, a best friend
*we laugh until it hurts
*someone who you know will be completely honest with you
*what good is news without a sister to share it?
*more than Santa Claus, your sister knows when you've been bad and good!
*we share childhood memories and grown up dreams
*we love to fool around together
*a little bit of childhood that can never be lost
*someone with whom to share the joys of motherhood
We may live far apart, but there's not a day that goes by without you in my thoughts and in my heart.
I love you dear Courtney sisters. Can't wait to see you soon.
