Her parents went berserk...

as she dribbled the ball from mid-field, warding off opposition, straight into the goal, scoring her first and the team's very first point!! The whole team went crazy, including all the parents. The visiting team must have thought we were insane, as we were 3 points down. Savannah's hockey team has only been playing for 6 weeks and compete against girls their age, who have been playing for much longer. 8 is quite late to start learning to play hockey in this country. They seem to get going really early with things like hockey and soccer and learning to ride a bike. Bryn has taken it upon himself to coach and encourage Savannah from the sidelines. She responds well to his orders and has been named the team's fastest runner. We look forward to some fun family Saturday mornings in the future.

Bryn and Savannah headed to the local hockey fields yesterday afternoon with a couple of my plastic kitchen bowls (as we don't own cones), to practice for today's game. It certainly paid off and gave them a chance to bond over something they both really love and excel at.
